Why not, you want a comfy place of work. Don't forget some manufacturers will gladly give the police a vehicle as it makes for good promotion, as it invariably gets some space in the press, especially if it is something that you don't normally associate with being a police vehicle.

That's right, didn't Humberside Police get a couple of them, one marked one unmarked? I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading that in some magazine, Car or Evo or something.

Apparently the Chief 'blogged' that when Cameron used them as an example of wasting money by purchasing them on the leaders' questions he spit his coffee out.

To the resident BiB, what's the WORST police car you've been given to use?

The cars that you couldn't catch a cold in or couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding type motors? Where upon seeing it for the first time your immediate thought is "WTF were they thinking when they bought that?"

I remember my sister getting a bit confused by Birminghams' one way system late one night and being pulled by a cop in a Austin Maestro! The Bib was very polite etc but a Maestro FFS!

They brought them to our place from time to time whilst evaluating them, lovely piece of kit.

Most of them are promo cars, to get a new car some press.
The Jag and the Evo are used day to day. Also the lambo in Italy.
I would not want to spend 10 hours in a Lotus! Pointless as a traffic car but good for PR wink

What do you think that car is for?
I think that's exactly what the car is for, catching criminals.

But you said:

Which leads me to believe that Cameron's one of those people that thinks we shouldn't actually be able to catch criminals.
