I have long kept ebay out of my life. However, my wife eas talking to freinds who told her that it was a great way of making some pocket money.
She has been selling all manner of items on it, including some of my old games consoles etc.

We have noticed that after completing a sale, we are asked to provide feedback about the buyer. I guess this adds a point to the buyers star rating?
However, some buyers fail to leave any feedback for us - Is this allowed?

They arent moaning about our transaction, they seem to pay for the goods and never leave any feedback. This presumably means that my star rating is not increasing as it should?

Buyers are not always the best at leaving feedback - as a seller you just have to live with it I'm afraid. Also some buyers forget about leaving feedback once they've received their goods, but may well remember next time they buy something, so getting feedback a few months later is not unknown. eBay does remind buyers to leave feedback, but it's not an obligation, any more than a seller is obliged to leave feedback for a buyer.

Also, in my expererience, most Sellers do not leave feedback untill Buyers feedback has been recieved.

I am often the first to leave f/b as a seller and as a buyer.
If I do not receive f/b after I have left it I have a look at the way they leave f/b and some only do it once a month in bulk.
I'm not that bothered now as I have plenty of f/b now.
In the past if somebody left f/b for others after I have left it, sometimes I might ask them if they are happy with the transaction and usually get it left soon after.
When you are a new seller you can ask them to leave it for you as you are keen to get to the next 'star' and usually works.

Send them an e-mail!

No, seriously, just send them a message through ebay asking if everything is ok as you have not received feedback, this goes to their e-mail, which they check and prompts a response!

Welcome to the Ebay revolution....
