Discussion
You can apply it manually by following these steps:
Backup anything you need, in case of problems
Download this file and put it on your sdcard - http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_HTC_EU_2.10.405.2-...
Rename the file to 'update.zip' (ensure it is not update.zip.zip)
Power down the phone
Start the phone in recovery (press vol down and power together, then select recovery)
After recovery loads press vol up and power together
Select to apply update.zip

Or if your carrier has not released 2.2 you can install the generic HTC ROM using a goldcard

Be aware you MUST keep your gold card (or recreate it) as it must be in the phone when you do an future upgrades. The benefit of the generic htc software is it has no carrier bloatware and your upgrades will be avaliable as soon as htc release them

From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings.
Scroll down the screen, and then tap About phone > System software updates.
On the System software updates screen, tap Check now.
If it's avaliable for your phone/carrier it will do the update
Probably best to stick with this one unless. Only try the otehr methods if it doesn't work and you really need that 2.2 goodnessScroll down the screen, and then tap About phone > System software updates.
