I am about to do my first Tax return in Ze Vaterland having purchased a B&B earlier this year. Besides the obvious business related expenses:
-TV licences, furniture, food, website, Tourist board charges et cetera
Are there any other not so obvious tax reduction items I am likely to have not thought about, as this is all a bit of a new game to me???

Do you buy newspapers for the guest lounge? A stock of books to have around the place? Do you provide Wifi? Then a proportion of your broadband account & cost of some hardware?

Surely if you're running a business in Germany you have engaged a local accountant? Tax is very complex in Germany, although you'll end up paying less than the in the UK as long as you use a qualified accountant. They normally charge you a percentage of what they save you.
