Hi, By law, every new product sold has to be covered by a minimum of a 12 month guarantee, but you may find that you have to take it up with the manufactorer direct not the person/company you bought it from, as some retailers try to avoid any responsibilty after 3 months...... although they shouldnt!

Not ideal, but reality!

Hope this helps

Kef are fantastic on the aftersales

I have had my PSW2000 sub 8 years and the amp has died twice (I can be a bit of a heavy user!), and they replaced the amp both times, no quibble (actually the second time the speaker went as well and the replaced that as well). Just a thought - My sub is a just a bit like the proverbial brush - had it years, replaced the head and the handle loads of times ;-)

I also knocked over one of the main speakers and broke the neck of the stand and when I asked to buy the part they just sent me one FOC

Great kit, great company

Was this a random occurrence or was it instigated? If a Kef rep randomly found this 2 days after it was posted then I am seriously impressed.

Kef UK - 01622672261 - ask for servicing.

Call them and deal with them directly, their service is fantastic. I can't remember the model number but my kef sub has died previously, removed the amp, sent it back, replacement within a couple of days.

I find going via the retail network SOMETIMES causes more delays and hassle than it's worth.

maybe for you they're fantastic but not for others.

my psw2000 blew, which is a known problem due to 'standby' not actually being 'standby' and they wanted £60 to fix it. I argued stating it was a known design fault, and this exchange went on for some weeks during which time they then hiked the repair cost up to £105. God only know what they charge these days and mine has remained faulty. I shouldn't have to pay to repair a design flaw on equipment that cost over £1000 and was barely 2-3 years old.

what annoyed me was the inconsistency. Lots of people had theirs repaired for free, others managed to haggle the price down and others couldn't get them to budge from the full charge
