WTF? My two year old is hooked; I watched a bit of it with him and felt like I was on LSD.

Strange isn't it, but When you delve into it and understand what it's supposed to be and the fact that it's designed to assist language acquisition it all makes sense.. (well, less nonsense anyway)
I know thats what they say, but it all comes across as a load of bks. If you want a kid to learn to speak properly, then just speak clearly to them - talking a load of irritatingly stupid mumbo jumbo just won't work as well.Every time I see it I can only imagine what sort of recreational drugs the creators must have been on - it really is a psychedelic freaky world.

I know what you're saying, and don't worry, I'm not part of their strange world, but... The concept is that it's the space between being awake and asleep, that initial dreamy state, hence (I can't quite believe I'm writing this) Iggle Piggle going to sleep in his boat and finding himself in the night garden..
Initial phases of linguistic acquisition are about easily repeatable noises, not just words. Admittedly, Daisy (my daughter) is well ahead of that which ITNG can provide (M-i-L is a TA so has been working very hard with her on language, numbers etc etc), but I can certainly see that there is some value in it.
The other differentiator between this and other programs is the pace, ITNG is designed to provide the "chill out time" before bed, as opposed to the normal high speed, fast paced show delivered for most children's TV programming.
As a qualified speech therapist, Andrew Davenport, the chap behind ITNG and (partially) Teletubbies is in a good position to deliver, what looks to adults to be complete tosh, something that works well for children.

Scary kids tv is nothing new, I've always been scared by kids tv probably induced from watching stuff like this. http://www.tvgogglebox.com/view/68/the-pogles/ Here's another version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQi6_ZSU4SIhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH1w_DEEnZo&fea...
