Silverstone 5th Feb looks to be cancelled
Discussion
Yeah cant believe it! my friend sent me the link to Easy tracks page. I haven’t even been emailed by them yet with the set of dates we can chose from.
This will be the 3rd time I have to re-scheduled as the first was snowed off, now emergency track repair (whatever that means)...
Not happy at all tbh! I booked originally for Silverstone GP as its a prestigious track and last time I went was fantastic, now i will most probably have to either wait till November 2011 or do Brands, Bedford, Cadwell park etc....

Hi,
You've received this email as you are booked to attend a track day with us on Saturday 5th Feb 2011 at Silverstone. It's important you read all this email and respond so we know you've received it.
We heard yesterday that the full Arean GP circuit at Silverstone is having to close today until "at least" 15th Feb, perhaps a week longer, to undergo emergency track resurfacing/re-profiling. There is apparently a risk of Silverstone losing the MotoGP/F1 if these works are not completed immediately. This means the track day on Saturday cannot run on that circuit configuration.
After careful consideration overnight into the idea of running on a smaller layout we have decided that would not be an acceptable solution.
Simply put, while 75 cars attending a day on the near 4 mile Arena circuit is a free-flowing stress free open-pitlane event, putting that number on a circuit less than half the size is a bad idea.
We've already done our traditionally busy, cheap, season opening social at Bedford this past weekend so from now on it's got to be restricted numbers, even our insurance dictates such, and we would cap the National circuit, for instance, at about 45 cars max (if that) at this time of year. Hopefully, you'll agree with the decision despite it meaning no visit to Silverstone this Saturday.
Regardless of that policy, we learnt today that there is actually a near certain possibility that the smaller circuits will be closed too.
We have been in conversation with Silverstone to try and find an alternative date, but this is difficult as F1/MotoGP tracks plan their diaries as much as 12 months in advance. An official off-season replacement has been scheduled for 30th November (this was the earliest choice available at this stage on the full Arena, and the original and true replacement for the snowed off event in December) which, while in line with t&c's etc is obviously quite a long way off. Hopefully more will come along as the dust settles, however, neither the circuit or ourselves can guarantee that there will be any further 2011 availability for us at this moment in time.

THEY THEN GO ON TO GIVE YOU 3 OPTIONS HOW TO USE THE CREDIT
I hope it's fixed by the 3rd march... Have booked on with the racing line guys.
