Family friendly hotel in London
Discussion
Hi guys,
My wife and I celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary at the end of July but with having two children (10 and 6) it is difficult to plan a romantic weekend away so I am thinking of having a long weekend in London but want, ideally, a nice hotel that is child friendly. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Mike

By child friendly, do you mean has a pool ect?
If so, anywhere will be expensive.
We took the kids (similar ages) to London for the weekend and chose to select a hotel for it's location, as opposed to the facilities that it offered. We felt that it was more important to be near attractions, places and events that would entertain them. Assuming that as you are visiting London, you'll be out sightseeing etc, does it actually matter what the hotel is like (within reason).
Naturally, you'll want somewhere clean, quiet and comfortable - is that what you meant?

Hi,
I just mean somewhere that would be suitable for the kids if we are having a few hours in the hotel/room - we've stayed in Travelodges before which are fine for getting into and going straight to sleep but if we are making a long weeeknd of it there will be times when we just want to unwind. I don't really have a budget, given it's for our anniversary and London as well, I am prepared to spend the necessary.
Thanks for your reply

We took our 2 girls to London about 18 motnhs ago and stayed at the Premier Inn, Tower Hill.

It was good for connections by Tube from Tower Hill or the Thames Clippers, and reasonably priced too.
Breakfasts are good too!

We stay at Le Meridien in Piccadilly.
Very central (park in Brewer St, Soho).
We usually book through hotel-direct who list it as "5-Star in Piccadilly" (not by name). I think it's usually £250ish per night. It has a lovely pool and staff very friendly.
Sometimes we're lucky and get a huge room with settees, desks and TWO ensuites! Other times it's more normal but still ok (with 1 roll-out bed).
