I know there are several of you on here who are masters of the train ticket, so with that there is a virtual can of red bull to whoever can sort me out the cheapest route for me wink

Departing: Lincoln - 20th May

Arriving: Brighton - 22nd May

Good luck!

confused You want to take three days to get from Lincoln to Brighton, without mention of needing to stop anywhere?

Found a really cheap route (£15 all in) but it requires stopping off at a place on the 20th where the only hotel with availability is £600 a night and on the 21st the next hotel is £400. Any use?

Lincoln - Brighton in 3 days. scratchchin

idea

Rucksack, camping kit, bicycle - dirt cheap travelling.

or hitchhike.

wink

Other than that, if you're looking for cheap train travel, avoid going into London - getting to Reading then to Brighton might work...

Buy an MX5, drive it there then sell it. Massive demand in Brighton from all the hairdressers you see.

Cab back home with the profit.

Ah pish.

That was of course meant to be arriving back in Lincoln on the 22nd, that will teach me to proof read my own posts frown

Pretty sure I got a train from Luton Airport that was going to Lincoln. If that's right, you can get a train from Luton Airport all the way to Brighton.

Might be worth looking into?

The cheapest route doesn't always create the cheapest overall trip though. The late trains from Lincoln to London are very cheap indeed, but obviously give rise to overnight stay necessities.

Drive... it takes 3½hrs (outside of peak commute times) and the parking in Brighton isn't that bad.

Normally would do but as this is a stag weekend I'm thinking the train will be the safer option.

TBH the price we have already is £45rtn which isn't exactly a bank breaker, can never go to low on price tho biggrin

Ah, fair point, and that's only just over a peak day return from Brighton to London... it's still a train however! smile
