My partner who is actually a police officer has just been given 3 points for offence code TS10 running a red light. (which reads bettter than going over a level crossing on red which is what the numpty did) do any of you have any idea how much this is likely to increase her/our car insurance by?

I dont thing 3 points for speeding makes much difference but what about this?

Before this both of out licences were clean.

The red light was on the tyne and wear metro and no danger was caused, it was a combination of being lost, a low sun affecting vison, being blind and stupid that caused her to cock up in this fashion!

Erm, ring your insurance company and ask, or try a comparison 'site to get an idea.
Btw, a brave post, considering your and your partner's occupation, especially the attempt at mitigation.
Absolute offence, no mitigation, as others have often been told by BIB here, with regard to their offences.
It wasnt an attempt at mitigation, she cocked up and we both know that and mitigation is a thing for court, not when you accept a ticket immediately without moaning, questioning or trying to avoid it.

Also mitigation can be used in court for all offences absolute or not.
