Gatso and police car

The other day I was heading towards a gatso that faces me. Belting down the road at 60+ was a police car with full blues and twos on. It went past the camera and nothing happened.

Does this mean:
1. The camera is a duffer/fake
2. The police car has some magic gatso blocking thingy?

I reckon it's scenario 1. Obviously I'm not going to repeat the process in my car as scenario 1 may only be a temporary condition.

If it is on your side of the road and facing you, it wont flash.

Either English isn't your strong point or you have a very short attention span.

I take back what I said above as I can see why you said it now.

The camera is on an island in the middle of the road and the police car was going in the opposite direction to me.
