Tax disk and private reg?

Quick one.

Changed my reg for a private plate. Log book came back today with new reg on and it comes up on the online tax check as the new reg. I have told my insurance company of the change but the problem is the tax disk is still on the old reg and the replacement has not arrived yet.

Can i still drive the car legally? Will that tax be a problem if i got pulled over?

All the documents that were asked for were sent almost 3 weeks ago. As above it stated i would get the letter/tax and mot back within two weeks and the V5 in up to 6 weeks. Got the V5 but nothing else.

I've check online for the tax/Mot and insurance and it all comes back as ok.

The pain in the ass bit is the tax runs out next Saturday lol. Going to tax it online today and i wont be surprised if the new one gets here before the old one.
