Received two from a recent trip to the Netherlands, sent to my old address (even though that was incorrect) and re-directed to my new address.
I've been looking into it and wanted to check a few things - firstly I wanted to see the photographic evidence but the online form you need to fill out for this asks for two pieces of information I can't find on the forms I've been sent. It asks for the Photo Film Number and the Detection Unit. Any suggestion?

On both tickets there is a "measured speed" and a "corrected speed", how come?

FWIW I was measured at 93kmh in a 70 (corrected 90) and 125kmh in a 100 (corrected 121)
I kept with the prevailing traffic speed, and didn't knowingly excessively exceed the limits, I also didn't see any cameras or warnings.

The other frustrating thing is you have to pay by bank transfer rather than pay online with a credit card. €186 and €187 for the two - also can't understand the €1 difference between the two fines.

Yes, it was a hire car. Booked while at the old address and collected 3 days after moving in to the new place so I'd delayed sending off my driving licence.
Hire place took a copy so presumably it came from them.

We had mail forwarding so it got redirected to the new address.

Paid it yesterday. Ouch.

The nice lady at the bank said they get a lot of this. Didn't make the process any quicker though.

And in the meantime I've been sent two letters by Avis Budget telling me they'll charge me €31 + 21% VAT admin fee, so another €84.70 to pay.

Just found out that the f***ers at Avis Budget, rather than deducting 2x €42.35 as per their letters to me have actually deducted £197.84, or €236 on today's exchange rate. No explanation as to why.

Email sent to customer services.

Isn't that one fine + admin charges? If so, I would not be surprised if you would see the second one shortly as well.

That is why I mentioned earlier in the thread, normally they lift it straight from the hire company.
"In accordance with our terms and conditions we have passed your details on to the issuing organisation and they will send written notification to you.
To cover our costs of dealing with the fine or charge, our administration fee of EUR 42.35 will be processed to the payment card used at the time of the rental within 14 days of the date of this letter.
If you wish to appeal the fine or charge, you must contact the issuing organisation directly. Unfortunately we will not be able to assist you with this"

The second page is the invoice which is only for the admin charge.

Key phrase for me is: our administration fee of EUR 42.35 will be processed to the payment card
No mention of the fine being paid in the letter at all, and no mention of "plus the fine" in that sentence.

No reply yet from Avis Budget

Called Avis NL and got caught in a perpetual loop of "press 1 for Dutch press 2 for English". Either brought me back to same menu.

Called Avis Uk and asked them what was going on.
Luckily she had access to same system and could see the documents I had sent. Told me he yes chase their Dutch counterparts but if they didn't respond it would be refunded to me anyway as it was clearly an error.

Takes up to ten days to process and it was last Tuesday when I called.

Will not be using Avis again. Although they're all as bad as each other.
