Car sold in Hull, seized in London
Discussion
Not sure if this is 100% the correct section, but I found this funny.
Last week I sold my RX8 to a scrap dealer in Hull. Today I got home from work to a letter saying it had been seized in London by the Met Police! On phoning the scrap dealer, just as a courtesy, it seems they'd already moved the car on (before getting the V5 through....). On the day it went I SORN'd it, so I doubt the new owner would have been able to tax it. Also my insurance was taken off that day too.
On the letter it says "In due course the driver will recieve correspondence from the Police regarding the offence itself"
So what do we think they've been up too; robbery, drug running or just failing to tax and insure the car?
Thankfully I have a signed and dated receipt from the scrap dealer. So its not my problem.

Not sure why it's funny, it's still registered in your name.
So what did the Police arrest you for? TooMany2cvs said:
You sold it to a scrap dealer... How buggered was it?
I'm wondering if the car seized in London wasn't actually "your" car, just the identity of it on a hooky one.
Car was a runner, bodywork needed work. However I needed it gone and the scrap yard offered me twice what I could get for trade in. RX8's arn't worth much sadly. I'm wondering if the car seized in London wasn't actually "your" car, just the identity of it on a hooky one.
