I have a house which I am renovating, and my mother is dealing with the builders because I work away during the weekdays. The slating needed doing on the roof, and we employed the services of a roofer through the recommendation of a friend. The roofer turned out be a cowboy and we paid him over the odds for a job which he messed up. He didn't return so we had to get someone else in to repair the damage that he caused.

The original roofer has left his scaffolding erected since the 23rd May, and despite many calls/texts has not been back to remove his scaffolding ( which doesn't have any tags/contact info on it)

What's the best course of action for me to get the scaffolding removed? I don't want to pay someone to remove it

Thanks for the replies so far

I have since found out that bloke is not a proper builder, he is claiming benefits whilst working. I've spoken with him and he refuses to provide the details of the company (or bloke, probably) who put the scaffolding up

I want to do this by book, so will be sending him a letter via recorded delivery, stating if it's not removed within 7 days I will have it dismantled and stored off-site at cost.
