Police vehicle stops after midnight?

Do police make random vehicle stops after midnight, just on the off chance of catching people doing something dodgy?

I think they stop people with no valid reason some of the time

Some of the reasons are laughable, such as you were going SLOW

For them to stop you on the road there will be a reason, which you will be told when they speak to you.

Actually they DO stop people for spurious reasons particularly in the middle of the night
