Hi all,

I got pulled the other day. Had a driver behind me up my backside and so did a few bursts of the throttle in a 30mph zone to open the gap. Road was clear with no pedestrians. Come to a set of lights on red and had a copper knock on my window and told me to pull over. There was 2 plain clothes coppers in a normal standard vehicle (Corsa). I didn’t see them but they must of been behind the car that was behind me.

They pulled the both of us. The officer asked me what speed I was doing and I genuinely didn’t know but I knew I was well over but not over a long distance. Tried to accuse me of racing which I told him I wasn’t but threatened me with court if I wanted to argue the toss.

Asked for my licence and checked myself and my vehicle details. Got off lucky as no further action was taken and got a good telling off and also warned about the high court car cruising injunction which is in place around my area.

I admit I was in the wrong and reacted to the situation in the wrong way but I’ve learnt my lesson and that’s the end of it.

But I was just wondering if there would be a record of me being stopped on the police systems now? Or possible some kind of marker on me or the car? If so how long are they on there for?

I’ve been driving for over 10 years and that’s the first time I’ve been stopped and have never had a speeding ticket.

Thanks.
