Looking for advice and opinions on the situation i'm in if you lot would?

2 years ago I sold some concert tickets on a popular ticket selling website beginning with V.
The tickets were delivered to my mother in laws home where they were left near a fireplace and half of the tickets become damaged because of the heat.

I got in touch with the ticket selling company. Advised them of the situation.
They asked me if I could try and get the tickets replaced to then send to the eventual buyer.
I'm in the North West and would have had to go into London to get the tickets replaced so it wasn't possible.
I spoke to the ticket selling company over the phone who understood what had happened, said they will cancel the sale and find other tickets for the buyer.

Eventually they ended communication with an email stating 'they understand that I was in no way at fault for this issue and they were grateful that I had informed them about it'

Fast forward to now.
I had sold some more festival tickets through themselves for a weekend up in Glasgow, payment was due 2 weeks ago to the tune of £230.

I contacted them to tell them I hadn't received the payment to which they said that due to the issue 2 years ago they had to source other tickets for the buyer and it had cost them an extra £300 on top of the cost that I had sold my tickets for and that they were keeping the £230.

I had never been told that I had owed them £300.

What would you do in my situation?
I'm thinking the levels of inconvenience and potential stress that it would take would make the £230 seem insignificant but then I also think why should they be able to just take my money without telling me that I owed them money in the first place?

Nowhere on my account it says that I owe them money.

TL:DR

Do a claim back thing on your credit card.

Now please don't anybody shout at me, but in future,

What is wrong with only buying tickets for events, shows, games etc from the official box office or the promoters and only paying face value for the tickets.

Have nothing to do do with companies like Viagogo. Getmein, stubhub etc.

Would that work?
I have sold, not bought.

You must have bought them in order to sell them!
It was for the Arctic Monkeys weekend up in Glasgow. Couldn't make it so sold them on.
I didn't want to sell them on Gumtree/ Facebook as I've bought in the past in a similar manner, turned up at an event and been denied entrance because the seller reported them as 'lost' so I thought going through V****** would offer me security and there would be a lot more people wanting the tickets.
I wasn't making profit.
