Guy jailed for 102mph on the motorway
Discussion
There is a massive crackdown on speeding in the South of Ireland coming in this year, just as a warning to anyone traveling over to be careful and watch their speed.
This judge is getting ahead of the game. Clear bright motorway in the evening, no priors, no stupid excuses and 3 kids at home with a wife that doesn't drive, 2 years ban and 2 months in jail.
Will certainly change the flow of the motorways which are large and fairly fast once you leave Dublin area, I'd be down twice a month and have not noticed much change yet with 120kmh still being slow/middle lane speed but a few more of these headlines will put the wind up people.

It looks to me that there might be more to this that the newspaper isn’t reporting.
Agree. He was done for dangerous driving, not (just) speeding. Although I do not know how the Gardaí view these things.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-46524583

That says proposed rules. Have they been brought into law?
