Tonight I came home to about a litre of black sludgy engine oil on the road right at the end of my driveway. I tried to clean it first with washing up liquid, then apc, then citrus degreaser.
A lot has come off but its still badly stained and still slippery. I dont fancy riding my motorbike over it, but I am working very early until very late all week so realistically its there until the weekend and I dont really fancy wasting what little family time i have this week wasting fuel going out and buying expensive cleaners and spending ages scrubbing for someone elses fkup. My cctv very clearly shows it was a courier in a ratty unliveried curtainside sprinter, got the reg clearly too, no doubt whatsoever 4k UHD WDR cameras are fking awesome.
I have emailed the company supplying the goods he dropped off very politely asking either for the couriers details or for them to contact the courier on my behalf about this, but I have a bad feeling about thier willingness to help, as it was a 1 off purchase and they haven't been stellar so far, the package is already late and still at this moment showing as order processing before dispatch on their system.
Having never been through something like this before what is the chances of them sending someone out to clean up their mess, and if I get nowhere what is my recourse?
yes its minor, but very irratating. I have to do daily vehicle checks for a reason, these guys arent exempt, they are supposed to be professional drivers.

The van pulls up on a clean dry piece of monoblock, you can see the drips happening in glorious ultra hd then pulls away after shrek's simple cousin struggles to unload a lightweight parcel leaving a fresh large puddle.
tried uploading, but everwhere compresses the image quite badly its nowhere near as clear once its uploaded.

i can easily and happily spend time on the phone making a nuisance of myself while driving between jobs.
What I dont want to do is waste a few hours of weekend on it. Is that difficult to understand?

it was an independant subcontractor to the courier company, the courier company are going to tell them to ceither come out and clean it, or they will pay someone to come out and clean it and charge the subcontractor for it, thats a relief, got a lot on this weekend. its stained the blocks quite badly so they will need to use something pretty strong.

I get on perfectly well with all but 1 of my neighbours, and thats because their spoiled wee ste of a 10 year old son keeps punching my 7 year old daughter, until I had to have a proper word with the dad. Getting on with my neighbours is why I dont want a dirty big black oil stain on an otherwise clean and tidy street.
I will clean it myself if I have to, but its beyond cat litter it has soaked in and is really black.
brake cleaner shifted a bit, but I ran out, and brake cleaner is expensive, the size of the puddle and how much it took to clean half a block I reckon it would need 3 cans.
The courier depot is near one of my customers I am visiting next week if it isnt fixed by then I'll pop in and annoy some people.

euro car parts is about 40 minutes drive each way though but thats a good shout. I usually get it in aerosols because it always seems to melt cheap pump sprayers and i dont use it enough to pay the price of a wurth sprayer.

And?
Its a large pool of it 10" from my driveway.
there is no pavement on my street, and its right where its going to get trailled in to mine, and its slippy. Anyone who doesn't like it can away and take a fk to themselves.
I guarantee not one of you would be this wide face to face, but everybody is a smart behind a keyboard.

cement works well but not sure if it would stain the blocks, anyway, I'm not planning on doing it myself, its not my mess.

I wasnt looking for sympathy, I was looking for a sensible answer, maybe from someone who experinced the same. No macho posturing, just me being me, go elsewhere if you dont like it.
If you read the thread you would see I have already contacted them and had a vauge promise.
