Speeding Court Summons Date Change - Pre Booked Holiday
Discussion
I literally am asking for a friend.
He has been advised he is to go to court over a speeding offence, currently has a clean licence & is a first offence. He was clocked doing 66 in a 40!
He hasn't had the court date yet but we are away in April which is fully paid for and is worried it will be then. So my question is is he able to request a date change date or is he going to have to forfeit the trip if the date falls on this few days we are away?
Thanks

Have they told you you have to appear in person?
The only letter recieved states"Due to the nature of the speed surrounding the offence, the matter will now be heard before the magistrates. A summons will be sent to you in due course informing you of a court venue and date"
