Just a heads up mostly. My photocard was out of date (by quite a bit as it turns out). I've had the forms here for ages, so I eventually got round to filling out the form and posting it off to be renewed yesterday...

Tonight I've stumbled upon the fact that the DVLA is not accepting form applications and is essentially closed to all but key workers (not sure how they'd know that, but anyway)

I guess my form and cheque will sit there for the foreseeable...what was to happen if I was applying to get my licence unrevoked?

How are you supposed to reapply for a licence then?

Still no update on this. Cheques have not been cashed as yet.

Cheques?? Really? rofl
Yeah. Can you suggest a better way to pay when sending via form?

Just got my new V5 for a car I bought a week ago.

No problem...
Likewise. My driving licence however hasn't reappeared, nor the cheques cashed.

My wife's licence renewal (medically restricted licence, we thought it had to be done by post/paper as the renewal letter indicated but the website now suggests you can renew some restricted licences online) finally came through today after waiting for a good couple of months, so they're clearly at least starting to work through the backlog.
If anyone's in a similar position, there's some legal basis here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/inf1886... - that allows for driving while waiting for the DVLA to process a renewal.
When did you post it out of interest?

How did you send it? My licence was out of date, photocard expired end of last year, only realised (because I had ignored the reminder letter) when I tried to rent a van a few months ago. Went into the local Post Office during lockdown, they took my photo, completed the form and sent off my old one on the spot. Received the new one in less than 4 weeks.
Just filled out the form and posted it in the post box.

It was, my HGV entitlement expired (at 60 late last year). On the DVLA website it state 'licence expired' as well.

S100HP - Posting it yourself seems to put it at the back of the queue. Did you send it Special Delivery and have confirmation of delivery? If so, call the DVLA, they are answering phones, 2-5 minute wait yesterday.
Big standard delivery. Cannot get through on the phone.

I sent off my paperwork to remove a plate on 28/5 and the online vehicle enquiry showed that the plate was taken off yesterday. This should give anyone that needs to know the sort of timelines DVLA is working to at present.
Not really, they've had my documents since mid April

Finally spoke to someone at the DVLA at the end of last week as there was still no sign of my licence. They sent me a replacement D1 form and gave me a "key worker" address to send it to (I hate that term). I added a covering letter and posted it Monday at 1600, it was received by DVLA 0730 on Tuesday and the replacement one arrived on the post this morning (Wednesday)

16 weeks I was waiting, yet the second form was turned round the same day.

Sold my sons car last Wednesday and did the transfer online. Recieved the notification slip through the post AND the £3.33 rfl cheque on the Monday, pretty awesome
Well done. It's very clear online is functioning as normal. It was postal that was the issue.
