always carry your licence?

should it be made mandatory to carry your driving licence card and some new short form of log book when driving? if not, why not?

it is in most other countries and would be a very simple way of avoiding/punishing lots of the driving while banned/untaxed/unregistered/uninsured car business that goes on in these 'traffic cops' programmes and would speed up police work, freeing them to go out and 'catch real criminals'™

spose yer right, though there is number plate spoofing to consider, not that a log book would be forgery proof, but it would be one more safeguard

licence card in the wallet, car docs in glove box (dunno where i would put bike docs tho)

i was thinking of a new type of 2 part 'log book' replacement, as i said originally (actually, i'm thinking of the german system)
