Apologies if there is a thread already for this because the story has been around a while.
Even though the UK has left the EU it appears we'll adopt this measure too.
The system has an overide function (Flooring It!), but won't there be a data-collection programme inside the limiter if you decide to ignore it..?

Apparently the regulations allow for the speed limiter to be switched off, so just like start/stop it will just be another button/menu to disable before setting off. Annoying but not the end of the world.
It's OK to be able to switch it off... but will the audible warning be silenced if you do so...?!

Just a thought - But if you have an accident when the speed limiter is switched off. 1) Will it invalidate your insurance, and 2) Make a legal prosecution more likely?
