Been doing a lot of research into importing a c7 and with the currant pants exchange rate the numbers are coming out give or take a few sheckels about the same, so given an import won't have the warranty and all the hassle that goes with getting it on the road once landed, it's seems a no brainier to buy a Euro spec car. Just posting in case I'm missing something before I pull the trigger and slap down a deposit.

I imported a new C6 in 2005 and with almost 2 dollars to the pound then ,it was worth the extra hassle.
I got my new C7 Z06 from Ian Allan in April after looking at the costs of another import.
Taking into account that I have a Euro spec car with a three year warranty it was an easy choice.
What's your experience of the z06 since April, I'm undecided on z06 or grand sport. Have the over heating issues been ironed out now on the z ?

I have had no overheating problems with my Z06 but the 2017 models of which mine is one ,have been modified to solve the problem.
I love the Z06 but to be honest the Grand Sport makes more sense. There is almost too much power (660 HP) and the tyres break loose in the dry if you are a little heavy footed. I am not brave enough to switch off the traction control in the dry let alone in the wet!
The Grand Sport has the looks of the Z06 with all the performance you need for the road and quite a saving on the price.
The Z06 may be the one to go for if you intend to do Track days however.
If you are intending to buy from Ian Allan I would ask for a test drive of both models.
Thanks fo your reply, I've driven the standard stingray at Ian Allen, can't really go too mad with the salesman sitting next to you, maybe I'll get a drive in a grand sport as I'm not bothered about track use.
