I'm in the US. An ex-pat petrolhead I taught my daughter to drive in a stripped out NA Miata and when she got a local job she ran around in a `99 Boxster. She has the bug. Unfortunately she is now on the other side of the country and is looking for a two seat convertible that is practical enough for every day usage but her squeeze doesn't drive `stick'. Although she is quite capable of routine maintenance (oil & filter changes/air filter/brakes etc.), she will be probably dependent upon local dealers and garages for any repairs. We still have the Boxster and it's in good mechanical health but IMO it has the potential to throw up bills if anything major hiccups. So...
Obviously she has to teach him how to drive, but aside from the obvious, what about a C5 auto?
