Yesterday saw me make another trip to the workshop of Jeal&son to see/talk about the progress being made on my ZR1 aswell as remove the A/C off the car along with some cleaning duties.

Block has been bored & Honed,,heads have been worked on and the crank has been polished,,we are still awaiting some parts although a"fidanza" single mass FW and "spec" clutch&plate have arrived, there is a marked difference in weight between the single mass and stock flywheels.

While i was there i removed the A/C pipes, compressor and housing, these parts being boxed up and put in storage along with other stock parts that were taken off the car,,the housing was the awkward part to remove and access is gained by taking off part of inner wheel well ,a "panel"forward of drivers door, header tank and chassis brace and these parts
were cleaned and refitted.

All in all it was a good day out and days like this can make your "build up" quite fulfilling, the subject of wheels, tyres etc is inevitable and when we got to talk about how Geoff's lightwieght ZR1 handles the keys to his car were put in my grubby hands with the words "go on try her out".......didn't need asking twice.

A great day for building enthusiasm

Geoffs car compared quite well although there wasn't much space on the road to open it right up,,it handled a lot better due to different spring ratings and poly bushings all round,,the car has been seriously lightend to around 1300 k and runs a larger rad, quick shift kit, aftermarket FW and clutch and exhaust,,sort of car you could drive at 100 and it would feel like it was going 50 ,,did you and K have a good week in devon.

Sounds like good fun kite flying, but also sounds like Kite flying 'not as we know it'and pretty hairy.

Not nessasary better coilovers but different spring rates + being lighter and its about time i replaced the bushings on the suspension, still should put this right over winter/spring time.

Jason,i saw your car up Jeal&sons on sat, good to see the work is under way,,Withdrawal symptoms!!,,know how you feel although this is another aspect of the car i enjoy 'the build up'i dont mind the car being off the road aslong as i am planning and accumilating parts and imformation plus sometimes thing dont go as planned and its a challenge to see the finished product wether your building a house or modifieing a car and after all this has got to be the best time of the year to do the work.

Seats, big brakes etc etc,,,sounds to me like you might be looking to get to Elvington next year,,I might be interested in your event next year.

Found a supplier for a CF hood and they sent me the measurements so now i can plan shipping,,,interested in a CF hood

The CF hood is around $1500,,not sure about shipping but i have got the dimensions and weights and am trying to get a price for shipping,,soon as i have got some idea i will inform you,are you thinking of going lightweight if so i have info on lexan rear hatch aswell.

What colour are you having your engine??love the colour of your car it will have to be a special colour to compliment the car.

Aftermarket brakes over stock is a must if you are going to push it,i didnt know Brembo did 6 piston calipers ,,the 4 pots pull up very well.
I am going 18" wheels allround for looks as well as performance and am looking at several choices including the dymag 5 spokes.

I will be making the trip to Geoffs a week on saturday to do some more work on my car so hopefully see you up there.
