I am hiring a 620R with Bookatrack at Donington next week. I have driven their R300 before and many laps around Donington too.
Quick question, does the gearbox provide auto blip on change down ?
Really looking forward to driving the 620R
Cheers Ian

Thank you for the return posts. I'm really looking forward to hooking up with the 620R next Wednesday, I hope for a dry day too, otherwise it could be like driving a race Kart on an ice rink !!!
I have watched a couple of YouTube videos of the 620R being driven quickly around Silverstone and Brands to get an idea of driver input.
Nice and smoothly does it.
Cheers
Ian

It's quick, it's body quick.....
I have lapped Donington many times in my (then) Noble and latterly Bookatrack Caterham R300.
I really wanted to try the extra grunt and sequential box of the 620R
What a bit of kit, beautifully prepared and set up by the guys a at Bookatrack. I was reminded the car was only a few months old and got some great tips and instruction from Sarah for first few laps.
Then on my own to start building speed, spot braking points, gear changes and fastest lines.
I found the sequential box worked best at higher revs and foot planted on up-change. I still kept dipping the clutch for the first few changes...habit I guess.
On down shift, from 6th to 3rd at the chicane, dip the clutch on downshift (not too early to over Rev the engine) and the car remained beautifully balanced. You really need to push hard on the middle pedal, but once used to that the brake distance shortened. It's a hard pedal.
I found the best steering input was to be precise and smooth, that was the most rewarding to carry extra speed through a corner. I was not trying to showboat and drift the car, that's not my style, but I have seen it done extremely well.
I'm 6ft 1in and around 82 kg and managed to squeeze in the car very happily.
The 620R is a real track day toy and will make you grin from ear to ear.
I cannot thank the guys at Bookatrack enough for allowing the 620R on their track day hire fleet. It was an absolute joy..
So much so, I have booked again in August.
Cheers
Ian
