Having ordered some new Apollo wheels (13x6 & 13x8), I need to choose tyres.

I have not seen either tyre in the flesh.
Is there more tread profile on the ZZS tyres? Would they be expected to last longer?
Is there going to be any noticeable difference in traction between the two on the road?

They will only be used on road, and I'm not concerned at all about wet weather performance (I never use the car if there is any chance of rain). The ZZR tread pattern does look 'cooler' wink

Thanks for the info.
I want to try something other than the CR500's. My last set only lasted 12 months.

12 months wow! How many miles are you doing a year?
Not sure of the exact figure, but definitely under 2000 miles on the current cr500's (15").

I live in an area with plenty of winding tight roads going up and down hills and mountains with plenty of hairpins.
The rear end can get a bit 'lively' at times, but certainly no doughnuts.

The fronts are wearing a bit unevenly (worn on the inside more than the outside). I think I have too much camber for my purposes.
When I get the new wheels on, the car is going in for a full setup inc. corner weighting. This might help a little.

Wow! I couldn't imagine getting more than 2 years from mine (last set only lasted 1 year).

Either I am driving a lot harder than most (unlikely, esp. people doing track days), or I have a suspension geometry setup issue. I know I am running quite a lot of camber (for the road), for example.

I'll see how things are after the change to 13" wheels and a flat floor setup.
I think I might go for the ZZS tyres.

Did you end up getting the ZZS?
I ended up going for the ZZRs against the better advice on here. If I'm really honest, it was probably the cool look of the ZZRs that made me do it.

And I can now say from experience: they are too much for the road. I did one track day on them and once they are up to temp, they're in a different league to anything you can achieve on the road.

They have lasted well, but are feeling like they've lost their initial stickiness.

When I replace them, I will definitely get some ZZSs.
