cranking for oil pressure

one more technical question!
When I built my last caterham you disconnected the inertia switch to prevent the fuel pump supplying fuel. My academy car doesn't have a inertia switch as far as I can see so to crank oil pressure can I just:
1. take out the fuel pump fuse or/and
2. disconnect the fuel line to the fuel rail
any thoughts?
