Is it 'normal' to chop some off the outer 'shoulder' area to get it inside the line of the wheelarch?

Thanks..

Thanks - I'm looking at some second hand ones where this has been done, and wondering if it's something to avoid - seems to me that removing the rolled edge will impact the rigidity of the seat. That said, I do have my shoulder inside the line of the wheelarch with the current leathers, and I would put a headrest plate off the cage behind it..

They're caterham specific/branded ones I'm looking at. As I understand, the 'rolled edge' option on the tillet refers to the area around your thighs where they omit the u shaped edge to make it fit into the chassis.. whereas the area I'm concerned about is around the shoulder area where aeroscreens pictures - looks like they may have removed the lip that rolls backwards. Or I may have got the wrong end of the stick entirely!

Ah, ok.. makes sense. Thanks all.

I do have a lowered floor drivers side. TBH it's probably over cautiousness, but I'm not keen on the idea of the seat having been modified, will look to spacers when I find some seats to buy. Kevlar ones are a bit out of my budget I think, and I assume they're the same shape anyhow.
