Latest EU cars VS the UK equivalent? (Differences?)

Any expert can help me find the differences between EU cars and UK equivalent?
Engine? Regulations? Just marketing so they dont undercut the EU dealer??

Caterham UK will not give EU homologation for UK cars but will register your EU car in the UK...

How do people take the car to France/Spain if they want to retire there?
