Hi all, continuing planning my entry into the world of the Se7en whilst we wait for lock down to end. Are spares hard to source please and if not, where should I be looking, one thing I do fancy is to order the car without a bonnet badge, I have a road test of a good many years ago where the car uses a lovely yellow badge with 'Caterham Super 7 16 valve' script. I plan on mounting such a badge and a stick on license plate on the nose cone, I did see such a badge for sale on eBay I think, went for about £50 . Thanks, Paul

Spares are not a problem in general. Depending on the age of your Caterham/Lotus 7, then for younger cars, Caterham themselves. For older cars, i.e. models not in production, the first place to call is “Red Line Components”. They are in fact the official distributor for older Caterham’s and Lotus Sevens parts. Chris Mintoft is the man to contact.

And the badges from Caterham are in the £20/£30 bracket!

If Caterham do not have stock, you should try Red Line Components- Chris Mintoft. He may have one.

I don’t think those particular bonnet badges have been available for a while. If you’re on Facebook, you could try asking Alastair Westle who runs the Caterham and Lotus 7 Owners Group. I know he has produced good quality reproduction badges of that type in the past & has even made custom versions.

I know what you mean though, I have the latest black version on my 2017 car, but the original green & yellow badge is still THE Caterham badge, to my mind! I agree with you that the correct place for the number plate is across the nose cone too! biglaugh
