Emerald EMS

When fitting an Emerald, is it literally plug and play (with a suitable safe/base map), or is there a bit more to it? I presume depending on whether it's an EU1/2/3 engine the main ECU plug should just fit straight in, leaving the Emerald to utilise all the exisiting MEMS sensors? If this is not the case, how much hassle is it? Does Dave W just charge a flat fee for mapping, regardless of hours (up to a point obviously!).

cheers chaps. the car is a 98 SLR, so I'm guessing EU2 right? Therefore the Emerald should fit right on. Does the ECU come with any choice of base maps for a particular engine, i.e. enough to get the thing over to Dave for a good RR session?!
