Hello, im just looking for some advice on an issue with my gearbox in my Insignia.
Occasionally when I put it in drive it jerks the car violently and makes a loud bang.
Ive had it back to where I bought it last November, a Car Supermarket in Staffordshire,
where they couldn't find anything wrong with it but they changed the ATF and done a Softwear update.
Since then ive had it back 3 times with same problem for them to say that they cant find anything wrong
with it as there are no Error Codes coming up on diagnostic machine.
Its seems to do it after a fast drive, like up the motorway or duel carriageway.
Sometimes the gear change when you are slowing down can be very rough, but again not all the time.
the car has 30000 on clock and full service history.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Well I cant exactly walk away from it as the car was paid for in full when I got it.
I was wondering if there was any way I could get them to open the gearbox up and have a look as ive asked them a number of times
but they say they wont until they diagnose the problem as there are no fault lights on. Basically if the car is saying its alright then they say theres nothing wrong with it.

I got the car last November,believe me ive been at loggerheads with the after sales manager trying to get it sorted.
Its going back in next Friday again for them to have a look at but again its if it will play up when they test drive it.
I feel like smashing it up a wall sometimes with frustration as they don't believe a word im telling them. Ive got an Astra auto that's 14 years old and it still drives like new never had a problem with it.

Well,I can't trust them to do anything. It's so frustrating, been driving since I was 6.Got my Hgv Class 1, All my Digger licences. And I've just passed my rally licence so I know I am not abusing the Gearbox unintentional.Im no mechanic but I've been round long enough to know that something is not right. But try telling some salesman that.
