Good morning,

I have recently purchased a Vauxhall Astra 2010 which has a HID kit installed. However I do not like the HID kit and would like to revert back to Halogens. All of the original halogen wiring is still there.
I have taken the car into a garage and been informed that whoever fitted the HID kit has taken all of the original clips out of the headlights and as a result I need a new set of headlights which will cost up to 500 pounds.

Obviously with it being just after Christmas I do not have that sort of money. So can anyone tell me which clips I need to purchase to revert these back to standard Halogen?

You don’t need new headlights, if they’ve lost the clips you just need new clips, which you should be able to order from Vauxhall,

Looking online the part you need looks like this

Which looks to me like these would fit

It wouldn’t surprise me if they are in the boot under the floor or in a cubby hole, or in the headlight itself

Thanks Nick.

Is it just one clip per headlight that is required then?

I had visions in my head of there being multiple clips to insert into each headlight.

Just the one, it looks like you put the headlight socket into the holder and then the bulb into that and the whole thing just slides into the headlight assembley,

Something must be holding in the current HID Kit though.

There is normally one per headlight, but I'd get several. They are a ball ache to do anything with, it's cold, so everything will be stiffer and at least one will ping off into next week never to be seen again.
