So, I popped into my local Ford Store today to put a deposit down on a Bullitt.

They were unable to take my order, as they had only been allocated 2 and both sold, well actually it was a bit odd as they said they had been sold, but weren't sure If they were selling them?!

I have phoned around various dealers and all their allocations are gone.

I have left my details with about 4 dealers, so may get a cancellation or Ford may increase the run. Either way, they should remove the Bullitt from their UK website and Configurator, as you can’t get one!

If anyone hears of a slot becoming available, do let me know! I won’t hold my breath.

Sorry for the late reply! No date yet. Just confirmed allocation and committed on Ford’s Build Schedule, although no build date yet advised. Could be anytime between now and June 19.

With a cast iron Customer Order behind the allocation it may come forward, I am told.

It will be worth the wait.

I took my brothers Mustang to a Ford dealer in Sunderland and then to Ford dealer in Stockton for some simple warranty work.
In hindsight I wish I had taken it to Greggs the baker as I'm sure they would have more knowledge on the Mustang than those two outfits.
Were they Ford Store Dealers? These are the only ones that are really equipped to work on Mustangs. (Technically you can only buy them from a Ford Store too, although some people have ordered from a routine dealer, who in turn has had to go through a Ford Store to process the order.)

Hmm, not particularly happy about these omissions for UK cars...is possible to get strut brace but at extra cost. The bigger issues are the removal of central dials in dash and the LSD.

Considering my position now on my current order...if I decide to walk, I will post on here and invite anyone to pick up my allocation...no cost, just so I can secure my deposit refund by giving the dealer another order, although I suspect they may have a waiting list anyway.

So, i’m sticking with it. Dealer will supply and fit the optional Ford Performance GT350 Strut Brace too available as an accessory for Mustang. Not Bullitt stamped, but at least will have a brace.

Told today my car has been Gate Released, so all built and presumably shortly on its way...should be with me before Xmas!

Would this have any effect on your insurance?
Unlikely. My current GT Convertible has a range of modifications including:

Roush Cold Air Intake
Roush Axle Back Exhaust
Pedders Extreme Coil Overs
MAK Rennen 19” alloys
Full Body Wrap

None of which had any effect on the insurance premium and all declared.

My Bullitt has landed in the UK. I tracked the ship it was on all the way across the Atlantic! biggrin

Should be with me sometime next month. I have the Dealer fitting the Ford Performance GT350 Strut Brace available as an Accessory.

Not going to mess with it really other than that. May have a map at some stage, but that’ll be it.

How did you track it? My dealer says only then can do that but obviously they know not much...
I had someone at Ford UK kindly use my VIN Number to identify what vessel the car was on and when it would arrive in the UK. I then used the Marine Track App, looked up the vessel and tracked it.

Pretty cool really.

Phoowar, amazing photos, looking the bees... Enjoy.
How much did the strut brace cost?
Strut Brace was about £400 fitted including VAT.

I know I am biased because I’ve ordered one but other than maybe spacers to bring the wheels out slightly and a very light window tinting the car looks as good as it gets. The whole package looks just right, understated, menacing, elegant and purposeful! I think this is a car to use enjoy and look after with no or minimal depreciation and in the long term I am sure they will be very collectible. Good luck and enjoy it!
Thanks. Other than the added brace, this car will remain completely unmolested. For me, it is perfect and I don’t want to mess with it at all. Once I ave covered a few hundred miles, I will pop a thread up with experiences, impressions from a non motoring journalist perspective...including any negatives.

Anyone that has one on order is in for a proper treat.

I agree with your comments. I have also ordered the Strut brace from my dealer but when it arrived it was a black steel. l have spoke with my dealer who said this is the only one they do.
What dealership did you order yours from or do know the part number?
Mine is the Ford Performance GT350 brace. Part Number: 2215902. This was taken care of by the supplying dealer John Grose Ford, Ipswich.

It just says Ford Performance. Genuine Part. The bloke spitting his beer out championing the $200 brace looks like it cost $200. I.e. ste.

I get it - American car parts are cheaper in the US than they are in UK - even by as much as 56% - my point was that the price shipped from the US is still GBP68.00 cheaper than your UK sourced item.

I'm not getting touchy - just trying to save you guys a few quid. If your Mustang ownership experience is similar to what mine was - you'll be making improvements way beyond a strut brace, in which case you may find the savings start getting more worthwhile.

Make sense?
Yes. However in my case I wanted the supplying dealer to supply and fit the brace along with the brand new car they were delivering to me and to that end, it made sense to organise it all through them and the official channels. I was not charged for the fitting of the item either.

I get your point for people retro fitting such an item, now that we have ascertained it is kosher. wink
