Having placed an order 8-9 months ago whilst on holiday in Florida, my car has finally turned up at the dealership. Can’t wait to get it over to the U.K.!

How did you get round the 'no export' with the dealer?
I’m registering it and taking delivery as I have a place locally. At which point there is nothing to stop me shipping to UK when I feel like it.

Mine isn’t track pack as I want rear seats.

Some more photos below. Makes a fantastic noise and is good to drive even in recent greasy conditions.

Manual or Auto?

Does it feel nearly 800bhp?
7 speed Tremec dual clutch. Which is a decent box from what I have experienced so far. Also with the magnetic dampers and the setup generally, it feels quite a sophisticated thing, which I can’t believe I am saying about a 760bhp Mustang.

So far I have not fully explored the outer reaches of the power, but it certainly does feel it has that much power. Even when going slowly, it reacts fast to the throttle and also the exhaust noise in track mode leaves you with no illusions smile

Ah yes of course. I forgot that thats the gearbox for the GT500. Brain fade on my part.

Mustangs aren't really on my radar normally. Nor yours looking at your garage... But I'm totally on board with this. Wonderful thing!

Well done for trying something different.
Thanks! My wife has an original 68 Mustang fastback, like the Bullitt one but in presidential blue. And we ordered the car on a bit of a whim when over in Florida on holiday last year...as holiday souvenirs go it is up there! smile

Absolutely love that!

Silly question, if Friday’s numbers come in and I was to buy a GT500, could you get it converted to RHD?
I think there is one car in Australia converted to RHD but I am sure it costs ££. Then again, a mere trifle if your numbers come up!

I am pretty used to LHD so it doesn’t bother me at all.

I’ve never got on with lhd manual, but I could be persuaded.

Bucket list, one of these, in burnt orange and a rhd conversion.

Enjoy, I’m very very jealous. cool

Edit - a quick Google - https://youtu.be/VIHs3pi9qow
Good find, yes that’s the one in Oz I was thinking about.

Stunning.

Talk about sense of occasion. This one goes to 11.

All the more special, I reckon, when driven in the UK and during jaunts over the Continent.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, as it is not a safety recall and you exported it to here which also voided any warranty you will have to pay for the problem to be rectified out of your own pocket.
Well, I know that!

The recall letter hasn’t yet arrived at my US address, so it is good to get the heads up on here.

Is yours just the track pack or is it the carbon fibre track pack?

had chance to see a carbon fibre track pack yesterday
Sorry for the late response. Mine isn’t track pack, it has most other options inc the handling pack. I didn’t want track pack as it deletes the rear seats.

First time I have driven it today after the winter and other cars to drive. Glorious!

Is this the model with the 5.2 engine? What is the standard power?
I drove one on holiday with the 5.2 n/asp. motor and i loved it. Revved so well for an American V8.
Sorry for very delayed response!
Yes it is 5.2 V8 (Predator) with a 2.65 supercharger.
You really don’t hear the usual supercharger whine, the V8 is loud!

Drove the car for the first time in a few months yesterday, it is just epic. Not only for the noise and power, but you can hustle it down a country road with friends in various 911’s and it happily keeps up.

Thought this thread needed a pic of my track pack GT500 in Performance Blue. I currently live in San Francisco, but will be exporting this (and myself) back to the UK this year.
Did you bring to the UK?

Yep! It's here. Was hoping to get some more summer use out of it, but it's lethal on cup rubber in the rain!

Congrats, car looks great. Just back from a euro trip where we had torrential rain doing the Swiss passes on one day, my GT2RS on Cup2 wasn’t too bad.
