I’ve been considering an f82 m4 but since visiting a friend in the the US with a mustang which has an x pipe (resonator delete), some performance upgrades and handling upgrades. It sounds insane and has made me think about one as an option. What I have no idea of is what is legal in the U.K. in terms of redeeming that awesome sound and also what can be done in warranty; can upgrade parts be obtained directly via Ford and keep warranty?

Any advice or resources on this would be welcome!

I have an elderly 2016 gt convertible and the exhaust was a tad quiet, have the Ford extended warranty and said to them and they said if Ford supplied and fitted it, no problem.!
It’s nice but not too loud being approved.
Thanks. I’m trying to find out if people have x pipes fitted in the U.K. and what the implications are. Also, does it matter if the car is post 2018?

I have a 2018 (pre-facelift and without OPF) with axle backs and an H-Pipe. It’s legal, passes MOT, and a cheap and easy mod to do.

EDIT: r.e warranty; you need to go on the Ford performance parts UK website. I think you can get a full Borla system (h or x pipe and axle backs) that is Ford approved and if you pay the inflated price for parts and fitting, it’s covered by warranty.
Thanks. On the Ford site it says ‘not for use on the road’. Are you still ok if you only use the quiet modes on the road?
