Saw tonight the piece and it was quite bad

... and at £50k (the price I see on several UK magazine not the £40k that Plato mentions) I have made my mind up for good.

I'd rather have an Audi RS4 for the SAME money, more exclusivity and nice interior, exterior, etc. not to mention the technology and a better ability to fight depreciation

For £50k you can have a classic 80s V8 Vantage Aston Martin. Sure not 500 bhp but... 400 ish?

Do I still fancy a Mustang? Sure, the classic Fastback will do for me but the new one is out of the picture big time. I will buy a 1967 Fastback one day...

On Classic American no 187 Nov 2006

page 45 - Bill Shepard Mustang - GT 500 - from £50,000 OTR

also someone else on this forum posted prices above £50k

However £10k more or less after last night (for me, of course) will not make any difference.

Plato is maybe not exciting like Clarkson to watch on TV but he is a serious driver... his verdict was without appeal. Only the look is saved and guess what, you buy the car for the look. Then when you look at the original even Classic American (same issue as above) concedes that original is better for the look.

Unless I am missing something...

Mungo please read with attention...

Audi RS4 not Audi A4

Also I imagine that the second hand market in UK for the modern Mustangs to be something challenging... the bid-ask spread could be wide
