Ark: Survival Evolved

Anyone playing this?

It reads like every other 'In development, early acces forever in alpha' type game but its really very good. I lost my entire weekend to it and am struggling now at work on 2 hours sleep
Check out the trailer, lots of fun and misery to be had and the devs are pumping out updates every day. One thing to mention, I wouldn't expect to run this on a decent graphic setting until its been optimised more

Lol its good fun isn't it
The absolute best thing is to play with friends and make a tribe.
To tame a raptor you need to make sure there is enough meat in there for the duration. Then its a case of feeding it narco berries or going a step further and using the narcotics you crafted. Using those keeps the efficiency percentage up. Once the berries are in the raptors inventory you click it and then there is an option below to 'remote use'.
If all else fails just punch it. It'll keep it unconscious but it'll take alot longer and you need to keep an eye on its health.
You can tame a raptor in 10 minutes if you use Prime Meat but getting a hold of that at low level isn't the easiest. Also you will need a raptor saddle or any saddle for anything you are trying to tame to ride them.
Once you've established a (hidden!) base and make storage lockers and made a bed, everything gets alot easier. Obviously you also become a target once you start making progress to other players so be prepared to come back to the server having been ransacked, killed and your bed destroyed so you can't spawn back there

Its extremely fun for what it is, its also updated more than any game I've ever owned. Best selling early access game on steam, ever.
End game will be the brood mother etc although thats not really working properly yet. The recent server wipes made it really fun, everyone darting to the best caves
Have you guys used the vaults yet? Bigger than my house

For easy meat you can wade into the water and take out the smaller fish. Personally, I'd spend time getting basic tools, gathering berries and thatch and wood. Make a thatch house at one of the spawns and level up making powders etc.
I've only used the slingshot once, it felt useless. Make your way to the white and green drops once level 15 and you'll end up with a bow and some tranq arrows which is the easiest way to start your tame.
Save your rotten meat, engram the mortar and pestal (spelling?) and start making narcotics.
Once you hit level 15-20 everything gets alot easier if you're playing on your own

What? My Dinos?! Nooooooooo!
No, not my 4 Raptors, Dilo, Carbo, 2x Trikes, Scorpion, Philo, Anky, Pteranodon and Trex!
They're all nicely tucked in to our Dino Yard.
Managed to get down into a cave yesterday and resurfaced with 100+ meat, about 130 hide, some metal and some crystal. Was a close shave though as I went it a little unprepared.
Take a sabre, level up its melee damage and its easy streetNo, not my 4 Raptors, Dilo, Carbo, 2x Trikes, Scorpion, Philo, Anky, Pteranodon and Trex!
