I've noticed that Beta versions for this are doing the rounds now and there are numerous clips on YouTube.
On previous PS3 versions we had a healthy collective taking part in race series, time trials and the like, which was pretty much the majority of time I spend on the game. Are we likely to get it going on PS4, too?

Sound is a key part of the emotional experience of cars, be they real or virtual. All other racing games produce snorts and snarls, I want GT to do the same.
I believe damage is switchable from what I've read, but I could be wrong.
TBH, I'll still buy it. I've had every GT game released and love the format. Online racing took it to another level. The PS4 is so powerful, I'm hoping for greatness.

Nah, I don't like wheels. I've always used a pad and found it works fine. To me playing with a game pad is just wrong with a car game.
I had a wheel for a while but didn't use it enough to justify the expense and just found it took up a load or room, boxed or otherwise, in the living room. If you've a dedicated gaming space you maybe OK.

OK, so I've only played a few arcade races thus far but I am not disappointed.
The long term criticism of sound appears to have been put to rest to an extent. There's only a small selection of cars to try but it is miles better than previous versions aurally.
It looks stunning. The scenery, cars and tracks all flow seamlessly and the game doesn't appear to tax the PS4 in the same way the PS3 used to struggle from time to time.
20 car grids are much better though I've not tried online yet.
Square eyes, sweaty palms and adrenaline induced shakes are back!
ETA. The AI is much much better. You can't just pick this up and hammer the AI, they've judged it well and the AI doesn't just move out of your way, it will race you and it will give you a nudge.

I got a 650S for completing my daily mileage.
Unlike previous games, it doesn't look like it's going to make you wait to get into the tastier stuff. Not sure if that's good or not.
What I do know is that it's just taken me half a dozen goes to win on expert on the dragon circuit and even then it was only just. (5:30 dead for reference).

Well, the Rally cars handle like st and the demo doesn't give you the adjustments to sort it out.
And some of the cars and circuits are more like Wipeout or Ridge Racer than Gran Turismo.

It's a beta version, not the full game, so hard to be overly critical based on that.Could be worse, you could have just completed and hour long race for nothing as the progress wasn't saved at the end.......

EA, without fail, have server outages at peak times. Polyphony must be small fry compared to EA.

I got an Alfa 4c launch edition for all gold on the driving tests. I hope there is a bonus for getting all gold
And just unclocked a 458 Italia Gr4 for doing the first missions.
