I think that, irrespective of how good WWII is and despite seemingly being the game the CoD community wanted, previous CoDs have done irreparable harm to the franchise and a huge part of the prior fan base has drifted away never to return. Hence the lack of comments here!

FWIW, i thought BO3 was a great game. I've got IW but not played it much; a re-skin of BO3 that wasn't as good. MWR was the big disappointment for me. Every time i played it i ended up rage quitting. I've ended up playing Titanfall 2. It's got its issues, but i don't think I've ever rage quit.
I agree. The last time I can say I really enjoyed COD multiplayer was MW2 - there was at least a sense of a strategic battle going on, after that it descended into a headless-chicken fest. The last campaign I played to completion was MW3 after which I switched over to BF3.

As you say, I don't think switching era is goung to make any difference to the dynamics that broke the franchise - it seemes to be centred more around AHD kids perk-whoring on claustrophobic maps with purple skinned guns than any semblence of enjoyable team based warfare. In the era of big open-world experiences like dayz, GTA and the much bigger maps of BF, COD just seems a very outdated experience.

I think the choice of WW2 seems a bit predictable, to put space between them and BF1 they should really have done 'nam or something. Anyway I think we'll get the usual disjointed campaign then the same online COD DLC fest but with new art so I'm not expecting much tbh.

Most used words in the reveal; 'boots on ground' and 'visceral' - sounds like they were getting paid a bonus for the number of mentions,

So what they revealed:

Josh Duhamel the named star
A repeat of the original normandy landing in campaign
Campaign based on The US - as usual the UK seemingly didn't partake in WW2
Divisions - sounds like some sort of clan thing
Co-op mode - a seperate storyline with zombie Nazis
Return to authentic era weapons
Looks pretty - more grungy than the 'plastic' looking IW
MP will be revealed at E3
Private Beta access with pre-order
November release

Looks like a next-gen version of the original COD - be interesting to see if they do a remastered MW2 or not. I expect they will save that for the next jet-pack frenzy from the other studio next year to fend off what I expect will be BF going to Vietnam.

Expect tantrums galore as the Lee Enfield makes a return and a generation of kids discover they are not as 'leet' as they thought without wall jumping and frikkin laser beams.

While it looks good, I can't help thinking that just doing a shinier re-run of the normandy assault in the usual 'on rails' mode will not be as exciting as the original having been there, done that.
