The game is set to be released Spring 2018 + some pics.

RDR was last gen. GTAV was done on PS3, they quickly reached their limit of how far they could push it. RDR2 is being made for this gen (ps4).

having said that you can only make the graphics so good before you get problems with a game that's sandbox. i always found IMO that the GTA games had to scarifice a little level of graphics./detail for the sake of making a huge map/content and trying to load it all while you're blasting along at 100+mph

very very excited. i'm suprised they've gone all out and clearly explained everything and not done teasers like they with GTA. then again RDR is nowhere near as big as gta.

None that I'm aware of, but I doubt they would do that. the Red Dead Online won't be out when the came comes out, they're releasing the RDRO beta a month after in November.

given that RDR online isn't coming out until the month after the game comes out (which day, who knows) I'm going to guess maybe the timed exclusive is something to do with that. possibly PS4 players get to go online sooner than other platforms? the RDR online that's coming out was presented as a Beta too.

As my internet connection is capped (4g mobile broadband) the prospect of downloading a post disc patch of 50 - 60GB is not exactly filling me with excitement.

I'm kinda hoping that these might be 4k textures needed for the PS4 Pro players - so it might be optional.

in my opinion i dont think it'll be that big of a deal seeing as you won't even be able to play the game online until some time in november. so you've got at least 5 days from release date to download it.

Anyone ever bought a game on release from argos? the price is £49,99 which is the same as everywhere else. contemplating doing the click & colllect service and picking it up on the way home instead of ordering online from somewhere and hoping it turns up on the day (i've yet to make any orders).

done my click and collect reservation with argos. £49.99, same price as everywhere online. will pick it up around lunch time when i head home from work. The hard part will be deleting space to fit that bloody install! i still need to buy a new hdd!

you could try switching off the controller/turning it on again, or plugging it in via USB. i've sometimes had this issue even though i only have 1 account.

wish i could relate, my TV is nearly 10yrs old, runs 1080i or 720p. has no HDR. pathetic contrast ratio and nowaadys struggles showing dark shades/blacks. desperate need of a new TV but i'm so picky and there's so much choice i don't even know where to start.

question about horses... how many can you really have?

yes, one is your main horse that will have your saddle on it along with all your equipment (that you haven't put on your person). but I have a temporary horse that's been at the first fence and not budged... I suppose it probably makes sense to have several horses scattered around all areas of the map in case one dies and you can't revive them (and you want to remain honourable and not steal someone elses).

Having said that i can't tell which horses you can or can't take. If a bounty hunter comes after me I want to nick it's horse. but if you shoot or lasso the man off the horse will run away and disappear. It seems you can steal regular horses that have a saddle and put your own one on ir to claim it as yours.

I'm only in chapter 2 mind you. so no real spoilers.

While sat watching a conversation in a bar between two cowboys it suddenly dawned on me that the graphics in this game actually look quite similar to what i am looking at watching this 24yr old movie in SD.

They sure have.... I don't play computer games, but have watched the videos of RDR2 and am pretty amazed by the level of detail. I remember when Space Invaders came out!

as a 31 year old I grew up with a commadore 64, to master system era, megadrive/snes era, PS1/n64/dreamcast era then all the remaining stuff. the graphics are great for an open world game that doesn't have pre-rendered cutscenes. but i always felt there are other games that are more impressive. having said that this is largely down to the way rockstar makes these games, so it's completely understandable that compromises have to be made somewhere. they probably learnt alot from the likes of making LA Noire.

im only on chapter 3 and haven't gone for it. i can't help but feel its kind of a let down considering there are so many other horses.. surely you wana try them all. otherwise you'd just go and tame that white arabian and not use another horse in the game. kind of makes different horses a little redundant.

Seems like a mission I have with Hosea is glitched. the game wants me to use a scoped rifle for the scene (which is ridiculous), switching to a pistol (which makes more sense when being chased) has the controls lock and you can't shoot or switch weaposn. nothing.
