They're releasing the SNES console again but in a smaller format + several games built into it.

Nintendo article here

It includes star fox 2 (which was never officially finished/released despite it being leaked).

Out in Europe on September 29th

How easy is the raspberry pi thing to do.

Can i buy one ready set up with emulators on it??
probably not but where's the fun in that? the possibilities are endless with what you could do. some people like to stick it inside another console or make a portable version fitted into a 'classic' game boy and an upgraded colour screen. there'll still be a wealth of resources on how to go about it.

Am I missing something??

Would a Raspberry pi kit, 2 joypads and an HDMI cable not be cheaper and give you a hell of a lot more emulation possibilities??

About £60 all in and you can even get a case that looks like a NES for £15. These things make no sense to me.
Nostalgia is a powerful tool to get people to give you their money.

you can put software on your PC and download any game for free. all you need is a controller

so you can get the same setup for probably a tenner. just incase anyone didn't know.

this one would be good for convenience though but a bit steep in price.
it's nothing new. I was downloading the roms/emulators back in the late 90s with many of us playing the likes of street fighter or DBZ etc on the library computers during playtime or lunch. some people still like to do it legit and support the industry.

from what I've heard the Toys R Us stores only get allocated 8 each. Whats the point in that? not going to make much profit off of that. tons of people want to buy it.
