I want to really give vr a go as im into weird stuff like that haha.

I do have a ps4 but dont really want to spend a fortune on the ps4 vr headset.

Are the mobile headsets like samsung gear just as realistic or not? Im wanting to do vr not necessarily to play games, just explore/see weird st in vr, just for the experience really if that makes any sense at all.

I've tried the PS4 VR, and I can manage a few minutes before feeling sick. Other people I know find the same. It's a shame, because it's pretty cool. Sorry that wasn't the question you asked, but hey, this is PH!
Haha its fine, another reason i dont want to spend a fortune, ive heard you get used to it after practice also.

There are a number of us on PH who do VR, I have an Oculus Rift and its great, others have the HTC Vive and say the same thing. Have seen multiple people across the webs, not on PH mind, who say that the PSVR stuff makes them feel sick, usually this is caused by a low frame rate when on any other VR so I assume its the same thing.

Anywho... Oculus have the Go which is VR without a PC but uses a Mobile, have a look at that or if you have one of the newer Samsung devices try the Gear VR stuff as it is generally well received. There are still some games for these platforms and a plethora of apps to
Oculus go says it doesent need a mobile im looking at this one?

Are there good graphics games for vr out there? Or is it quite blocky atm?

Whats it like watching movies on the vr?

Do you pay for games/apps on these devices like oculus go and so on?

If you just want to have a play and already have a suitable phone then a Gear VR (or other cheaper cardboard type head sets) will give you a good taste for the VR experience. I was impressed enough that I wanted to go and get a better system. I looked at some of the PC based systems but I would have had to spend a fortune upgrading my old PC and another fortune for the headset. I already had a PS4 Pro, so got a black friday PSVR deal and I've been using that since the end of last year.

The PSVR isn't as good as a Vive system for example, but it is still very good. The immersion is excellent and the first few times you play it you will feel a bit funny. I found that I could get used to it with a few hours play. Some people always feel sick, just like some people will be throwing up on a cross channel ferry whilst others will be tucking into fish and chips.

The PSVR graphics aren't as good as you would experience on a 2D screen, the system is essentially feeding 3 HD monitors and it does struggle with a lot of detail (even the PS4 Pro). The feeling of being in the game makes up for this imo.

If you have a good budget then go for one of the PC systems linked to a good gaming rig, if you want to enjoy some VR gaming without spending a fortune then the PSVR is very competent.

I now use my Gear VR for watching films and Netflix and my PSVR for gaming on. Favourite games at the moment on PSVR are GT sport and FarPoint (with the aim controller).
Whats it like watching netflix on a gear vr? Does it just feel more immersive?

I think to start with i just want a sample of what vr is like, maybe watch some vr videos on youtube?

Main thing would be videos i think

PSVRs are getting cheaper all the time. Look at places like Cash Converters and they're hitting the £100 mark for second hand ones.

It is impressive but it's such a faff that I only used one a few times before selling it. I'll wait a couple more generations before sampling it again but it does provide some amazing moments.

They'll all be crap for watching video.

Phone based VR will have more way, way more apps than PSVR so maybe stick to that if you're more into exploring.
So you think just a samsung gear for 30 quid will be a good start into the vr world? I just want to feel like immersed.

I cant seem to find an answer to this question.

Im not really into games and would mainly be getting a oculus go for watching stuff on netflix or to be in different environments.

Is there things like videos where you can just 'relax in' look around and enjoy the scenery, i.e. beach scenes/medititation videos etc.

Or is it all based on games.
