Couldn't find a recent thread for this, but seen the game mentioned a few times over the past month or two so I thought I'd start one.

Just about got set up with my DIY wheelstand for my recently acquired G920, and done a couple of hours dicking around, adding a load of crap cars and tracks and removing them again, etc.

I can't see me entering any online races for a while, although I am keen to compare laptimes if anyone's up for a little friendly competition.

Any recommendations for cars/tracks?

Tia

The Clio and the 370z aren't too bad to start with. TC on low with the Z, abs on low for them both. Let the tyres warm up and take it easy, you'll soon get into a rhythm.

I was too soft with the wheel to start with, don't be afraid to give it some if you need to correct a slide.

I'm quite surprised at the lack of response.... frown

Anyone interested in a weekly hotlap leaderboard?

rF2 isn't as polished as some others, but since S397 took over development its getting better. As an actual Sim is still the best there is for realism.

The S397 DLC cars are well above anything else out there (baring some iRacing cars), well worth getting them. The two GT3 packs are very well balanced and I've had some great league races using them.
The UI looks like it's from the 90's, it's not much different SCGT hehe

Got all the (free) S397 DLC for now, plus some of the better rated tracks & cars, not seen the M5 though.

Any preferences for a track to use?

Run it from Sunday to Sunday as per most other comps?

Nah, just jump in a practice session and run as many laps as you want and post your time on here.

There's no prize, you're only cheating yourself, etc, etc. smile

PS - somebody suggest a track, something available for free in the workshop.

I was thinking somewhere German and make it a theme, but I'm happy with any.

Anyone tried this combo yet?

I can't get a full lap in without putting the car on its roof...

Yeah, mine was a 1:46 or 48....

I think we need to chose something else... Probably best to stick with S397 content for now....

I'll look for a combo to use for this week instead of the above.

For what it's worth, the M5 seemed ok at croft.

How about the 2012 370z - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails...

At Lime Rock Park 2012 - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails...

I have driven the Z briefly at Fuji a couple of weeks ago, but never driven LRP.

My stand is currently being painted, so I won't get chance to run this combo til Friday or Saturday.

Times in by 8pm ish Sunday 13th.

Had a quick look last night, I'm happy with doing either all chicanes or no chicanes.

Can't see me going much quicker than that. Did a couple of 1:04.xxx but most were in the 1:05's.

You need to be brutal with the steering inputs, so it scrubs like fk, rather than trying to coax it round without pushing.

Next week's combi:

Donington Park (National Layout - the shorter one) - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails...

In the BTCC Primera - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails...

There are 97, 98 and 99 versions within the car selection, not sure if there are any differences other than liveries, but I suggest we all use the 99 car.

If you go into the opponent settings, it tells you the different years when selecting the type of opponents.

I've tested the #77 car for a few laps to make sure we don't have the same issue with the M5 last week.

Feel free to suggest combos to use in the future, but please run a few laps to make sure you're happy with performance. I was going to suggest the 1966 version of Monaco in the 66 Brabham, but I got a headache before I did a full lap due to the poor quality, and it was a proper handful!
