*OFFICIAL* PH Helmet/Bullet camera video thread
Discussion
Ok. Like the 'Official YouTube' Thread. I thought it would be good to have an area where PHers can post their GoPro/ContourHD/Bulletcam/Helmet camera videos.
The rules are:
The rules are:
- Please put a descriptive title with them (just so people know what they're getting before clicking - I'm thinking people at work!)
- In the description please put any technical details such as Camera type, settings used, mount, video editting software or anything else that might be appropriate. This is as much about the technical aspects of the video as the actual content.
- Emphasis on PHer's work. Strictly speaking the YouTube thread is for other peoples work. This is one for the photography forum.
- Keep 'em clean (ish)
- Post your best videos

A run up the country - from Kent to just outside Aberdeen.
Picture taken every three seconds with my Contour.
10 Hours drive into seven minutes.

Suckermounted to the windscreen and connected to a 12V power supply from the Landrover.
Expect my next similar video to be Kent to Islay via Edinburgh in a couple of months.
Very good, I've seen that video before. I intend to do one from Bristol to the Lakes very soon (this weekend if the camera arrives) and I was wondering what frequency to do. 1 every 3secs looks alright to me unless you recommend otherwise?Picture taken every three seconds with my Contour.

First attempt at taking a brave pill and sticking the GoPro on the outside of the car, plus an exercise in getting used to editing with Sony Vegas. Pleased with it in parts, though it feels disjointed and doesn't really flow from start to finish. Also, the wind noise is a bit of a nuisance.

Filmed with a GoPro HDHero2 using the motorsports sucker mount and skeleton back and edited using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. Filmed it at the default resolution of 1280x960, edited it at 1280x960, rendered it, swore a lot, fannied about a lot, changed the project resolution to 1280x720, cropped every clip to that resolution... Learnt that lesson, I'll film in 1280x720 or 1920x1080 next time.
Nice! What went wrong with the 1280x960 then?http://youtu.be/SElDf3sDY3I?hd=1

Oh, and you need a external mic
Got my camera yesterday and have been playing around with it. I'm uploading a not-very-interesting video to YouTube now just to see how it handles 1080p. I've played around with the 120fps video too and that was quite impressive.
I should have a good play this weekend.
One thing I didn't realise (pay attention to) was that the Skeleton backdoor that comes with it is different to the skeleton housing. I'd like to use an external microphone (recommendations please) but can't unless I buy the mic (£20?) AND the skeleton housing (£35)

GoPro HD Hero 2 Test clip
Linky
There is some noise from the mount(?) and I couldn't be bothered adding music or muting what was there so just left the radio on.
Recorded in 1080p 30fps but converted using Windows Live Movie Maker to 720p. It was just a test and I need to work on the settings used

Hired a GoPro for something I'm doing tomorrow, but while it was sitting around today I though I'd have a little play, and came up with this:
http://youtu.be/QPSb5VNaFO0
Camera was a GoPro HD (1) with LCD backpack. Mounted using the GoPro suction mount. Edited in FCPX.
As much feedback as possible please...
ETA: Bonus points for spotting the PH sticker...
Missed the sticker but do I get bonus points for spotting road? Excellent stretch for a drive and not far from me!http://youtu.be/QPSb5VNaFO0

We had my sister and her family down to stay with us recently, and the kids wanted to go for a spin in the Lotus. I thought it would be fun to film their reactions - they seemed to enjoy themselves, maybe a couple of little petrolheads in the making there:

Just watched that video over on Seloc is it a GoPro? I can here the usual rattles (not the usual Elise rattle )http://youtu.be/OhJuVpCkZa0

Recently picked up a GoPro and had to do a run up to Thirsk on Friday, so stuck the camera in the car and set it shooting at 1 frame every 5 seconds..
Threw it at Windows Live Movie Maker (in the absence of any other processing software or horsepower in the laptop!) and came up with this..

It's only 3:40 long, and you get to listen to Awolnation's marvellous track "Sail" (which seems to be being used on a lot of videos right now, so sorry for the lack of originality)
It seems a little too jerky but cool anyway. What's the best settings for smooth-timelapse I wonder?Threw it at Windows Live Movie Maker (in the absence of any other processing software or horsepower in the laptop!) and came up with this..

Nothing artisitic here but I was hoping to catch how empty the streets of London are at 5.20 on a Sunday Morning as I travelled up to do a photo shoot, what the video actually shows is the streets of London are never empty.

Nice. That clip has made me want to do 2 things....buy a Gopro camera and go for a drive A couple from me:
Hairpin on the Black Moutain Pass - A4069
Filmed using the 120fps mode (848x480 ) so I could slow it down. Not great results and it made the sound go very strange... Oh well! I'd like to know how to gradually slow it down rather than shift suddenly into quarter speed
Washing the Elise
I can't remember the time interval, probably 1 or 5 secs. Just did this for a bit of fun
