Going on a quick trip away for work to Austria for a few days & thought I would take the camera & enjoy the sites, however the flights I have are hand luggage only. I won't be able to take my full camera bag so was thinking of a quick wrap in bubble wrap & taking it with me but not sure how safe it would be & how iffy are airlines about batteries in hand luggage, any tips?

I always take my cameras in hand luggage and have never had a problem with batteries.
What about taking a spare battery? Although fully charged I think 1 will be enough

Thanks all for the response, no issue with it going through, only to put it on the belt.

I have the spare battery & SD cards in a small tuppaware container but no issues with that being left in the bag.
