October Competition subject is Sunsets. A bit of a crowd pleaser but hopefully will attract plenty of interest and according to the records we haven't had it for a while. Good luck folks - what have you got? smile

PS - please note if you enter you may win and then it'll be up to you to set next month's comp!

Usual rules apply:

Rules
The photos taken must be your own work (there is no restriction on when the shot was taken)
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
Entries and discussion on this single thread please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo due to the PH squash factor. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Thought so - thanks
Are multiple submissions, but one entry allowed?
As long as it's clear what the competition entry is then fine smile

Great work All clap Some really nice work so far smile

I can't win (haven't got anything good enough for a start!) but here's my entry. Still the best sunset ever at the bridges - out of many, many visits!

Hi All.

Ok - so to the judging! Some very very nice work this month - great work everybody and great to see such a big entry! clapclapclap

I could easily pick out 10 lovely photos but for me there were two which stood out:

Runner Up - fantastic image, could easily have won maybe with just a bit more work on the PP clap

And the Winner - annoyingly it has to be our man down under again, Rob Dickinson! Composition, foreground, mountains, clouds and the PP is spot one - it's got the lot. Well done mate - you're a pro and it shows thumbup

And an honorary mention for Mr Wacky... good job but isn't that the moon rather than the sun ?! hehe

Just thought I would throw this one in, not great quality with a cheapo £60 camera....

For next month - as winner Rob will set the topic and judge as usual - but a couple of changes...

1. There will be a prize - as per the BenLowden thread - nothing too serious but the hope is to raise the profile of the comp

2. It has been suggested that we revert to the 'challenge' format - so the pics must have been taken in the month of the competition

So suggest rules are:

Rules
The photos taken must be your own work and taken in the month of the competition
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month

Hope everybody is ok with this - it's a democracy(ish) so feel free to disagree if you are not happy with the above - I have no strong feelings either way smile
